West Coast Community Adjustment Program (WestCCAP) Funding Announced
West Coast Community Adjustment Program – Deadlines for Applications
The goal of WestCCAP is to encourage long-term, sustainable economic growth in coastal communities affected by changes in salmon fishery. Projects can include “value-added activities,” “wharf and marina” infrastructure” “eco-tourism,” and “waterfront developments.” Eligible proponents are incorporated or registered not-for-profit entity.
The next deadline for Expressions of Interest (Stage One Application) will be May 21, 2010. The next deadline for Detailed Proposals (Stage Two) is: June 11, 2010. Expressions of Interest Template: EOI Template

Six community-based projects are receiving funding under the first disbursement of WestCCAP, a program administered through Fisheries Legacy Trust. The six projects are:
- Malcolm Island Harbour Upgrade and Expansion – Malcolm Island Lions Harbour Authority
- Quatse Salmon Stewardship Centre - Northern Vancouver Island Salmonid Enhancement Association
- Alert Bay Waterfront Enhancement Project – ‘Namgis First Nation
- Wharf Repair Project – ‘Namgis First Nation
- Wiukinuxv Carving Shed - Wiukiuuxv Economic Development Corporation
- Coal Harbour Wharf Upgrades - Quatsino Community Society
